Cherry Vanilla Soft Serve Bowl

Cherry Vanilla Soft Serve Bowl

I have been putting steamed then frozen cauliflower into my smoothies long before it ever became a trend haha. #cauliqueen right here. It really bulks up smoothies so nicely, and makes them thick and creamy without adding all the sugar that using like 3 or 4 bananas would.

My best is really to combine the two and do a half cauli half banana smoothie as that produces the perfect balance of sweet and creamy! And the question always begs - but don't you taste the cauli?! Nope! I genuinely don't. Once you have added in all your other things there is no cauli taste to be found.

In this version of my cauli smoothie I blended frozen cherries into half. They added such a deliciously tart flavour, and beautiful purple pink colour as well, that I thought it was worthy of sharing on the blog.

Cherry Vanilla Soft Serve Bowl

Yields1 Serving
5 steamed then frozen cauliflower florets
 ½ frozen banana
30 g protein powder (I used vanilla whey)
 1 cup almond milk
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 1 tbsp coconut flour
 1 tbsp almond butter
 ½ cup frozen cherries
 1 tsp sweetener of choice
 1 cup ice
1

Combine all your ingredients except your ice and cherries in a blender and blend.

2

Add ice and blend again. If it's too thick then add some more milk or water.

3

Once smooth and thick, pour half out into a cup. Add cherries to the remaining half and blend again.

4

Add both halves to a bowl and give a brief swirl. Add toppings and enjoy!
